REVA Runs to Remember on Anniversary of 9/11

There was no sleeping in this Saturday for REVA employees, as they laced up their sneakers and ran to honor those first responders who gave the ultimate sacrifice on the morning of September 11, 2001.

Named after heroic, New York firefighter Stephen Siller, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation hosts an annual Run, Walk, & Climb Series in over 65 U.S. cities. The Fort Lauderdale event, a 5K run and walk, took off at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15 from Huizenga Park.

“When people think of REVA, they generally think of the medical industry,” said Kendal Stoltz, REVA’s Director of Human Resources. However, as North America’s largest fixed-wing jet air ambulance service, REVA has close ties with the aviation industry and service providers.

“Both our EMS [emergency medical services] and pilot group were impacted by the events that took place on September 11, 2001. Events such as the Tunnel to Towers 5K represent REVA’s values, and we are proud to support this cause.”

Proceeds from this weekend’s event benefited the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s Smart Home Program, which aims to build accessible, custom homes for disabled service members.
