REVA Safety News – December 2016

REVA is now an active participant in the FAA Safety Management System Voluntary Submission Program. We have just completed phase one of four in the audits to have a fully FAA approved Safety Management System.

WHO OVERSEES THE REVA SMS?

REVA’s SMS is a systematic approach to managing safety that follows FAA and ICAO implementation standards. Our Hazard Reporting System collects and analyzes the data submitted by employees to help quantify our safety performance. SMS effectiveness is measured against 19 Safety Performance Indicators and risk assessments continuously. This allows us to build a risk profile from actual data. Real results from real data.

Q&A with our Safety Department

Q: How safe is REVA?

A: All REVA’s safety reports are analyzed and compared to industry reporting statistics. We recently joined the ASIAS network where we can see other airlines and air-carrier reporting. Our averages are as good as, if not better than other FAA 135 operators.

Q: Has REVA ever had an accident?

A: No. Our incident and accident statistics are calculated per 1000 Flight Hours (FH) and is dependent on fleet size and hours flown; a completely quantifiable result. How many other operators can deliver their safety in such a way?

“The most important assets of our Safety Management System are the people.” – Dominic Acevedo, Director of Safety

IN FOCUS

REVA recently conducted their annual Emergency Response Drill with the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and other local agencies in an effort to exercise its readiness and response level. We are very proactive when it comes to safety and will partner with the local community to accomplish our safety goals.
