REVA Sets the Pace

Fort Lauderdale, FL. – Jose Perez thought he had a leg up in the Banco Popular 5K race – until he lost the soles of his shoes. The base manager for REVA’s San Juan office was at the finish line when his running shoes failed him. No matter, he was competing to raise money for a good cause.

He wasn’t alone. A total of 27 members of REVA and Jet Aviation Services took part in a collaborative effort. Aviation Services is neighbor and landlord to REVA at San Juan’s airport. The contingent from REVA, North America’s largest fixed-wing jet air ambulance service, included executives, administrators, and medical and operations personnel.

Afterward, the group gathered for pizza — always a good thing after a 3.1-mile race.

It was the first time REVA had taken part in the event, which annually raises money for local nonprofits. This year, proceeds benefited Fundación Hospital Pediátrico, which supports University Pediatric Hospital with equipment, volunteer programs, and education.

“There’s no doubt that we are all winners when it comes to supporting great causes,” said Carmen Mojica, REVA’s Caribbean account executive, who took part in the event.

The Banco Popular typically attracts upwards of 4,000 runners to La Milla de Oro, San Juan’s commercial district. The financial institution has been operating in Puerto Rico for 120 years.
