When Is a Fixed-Wing Air Ambulance the Best Option?

For patients who need medical transportation over longer distances, REVA's fixed-wing air ambulances offer a spacious, pressurized cabin equipped for continuous medical care.

While rotor-wing aircraft like helicopters are generally used for shorter emergency transfers, fixed-wing aircraft are better suited for flights between the Dominican Republic and hospitals abroad.

You may need a fixed-wing air ambulance if:

The cost depends on the distance of the flight and the level of care your loved one needs during the trip. We provide a clear, upfront quote so you know exactly what to expect.

Will insurance cover an air ambulance?

Many plans, including Medicare and private insurance, may cover part or all of an air ambulance flight if it’s considered medically necessary. We verify benefits and work directly with your insurance provider to reduce out-of-pocket expenses whenever possible.

Can I accompany my loved one on the flight?

Yes. In many situations, one family member can travel onboard, depending on the patient’s condition and aircraft space. We do our best to accommodate family members whenever possible.

Will you arrange ground transfers to and from the plane?
