With more than 30 years of experience and 33,000 completed flights, REVA holds accreditations from EURAMI, NAAMTA, and IS-BAO. Each mission is planned around the patient’s condition, route, required medical equipment, and airport access.

Air Medical Transport for Different Patient Needs
REVA arranges private medical flights within Portugal and international transport from the mainland, Algarve, Madeira, and the Azores. Publicly authorized domestic emergencies may be handled through INEM’s Serviço de Helicópteros de Emergência Médica (SHEM) or, for certain island transfers, regional services and the Portuguese Air Force.
When private transport is needed, REVA selects the fixed-wing aircraft, clinical crew, and onboard equipment according to the patient’s condition and route. We confirm medical clearance and receiving-hospital acceptance before the flight.
Emergency & Critical Care Medical Evacuations
We provide emergency medevacs for patients facing heart attacks, trauma, stroke, and other serious medical emergencies, using ICU-grade equipment and in-flight monitoring to deliver critical care throughout the flight.
Pediatric & NICU Air Ambulances
Our pediatric and NICU teams use age-appropriate equipment, in-flight monitoring, and specialized care protocols to keep infants and children stable until they reach the right hospital.
Non-Emergency Air Ambulance Transfers
When a loved one needs continued treatment or wants to recover closer to family, we provide non-emergency medical flights with medical oversight, coordinated logistics, and support from departure through arrival.

Flying Home or Transferring Within Portugal?
Medical repatriation transports a patient between Portugal and another country for continued care closer to home. REVA primarily handles these international transfers, while Portugal’s public system coordinates medically necessary domestic flights through INEM’s Serviço de Helicópteros de Emergência Médica (SHEM) and, for certain island transfers, regional health services and the Portuguese Air Force.
REVA can also arrange private medical flights within Portugal when the public system does not apply or a family chooses privately coordinated transport.
