REVA Supports Golf Tournament for Cancer Research

REVA, Inc., the largest dedicated, fixed-wing, aero-medical services provider in the Americas, last weekend, again, supported the annual Parker-family golf tournament to raise money for families paying for cancer treatments at Massachusetts General Hospital. Brittany Parker, one of the annual event founders, said the tournament this year is also a celebration of her brother, Wes, being cancer free for 11 years. This year, the event sold out again!

Eric Parker, Wes’ father, shared, “Cancer affects everyone. Whether a parent, child, sibling, partner, family member, or friend, support is needed during this time. Our efforts serve to raise financial support to offer medical care to those affected by cancer. Because of the dedicated service from the entire staff at Mass General Hospital, we were given the gift of life. We are forever grateful.”

Over the years, this tournament has raised nearly $100,000 thanks to behind-the-scenes contributions from concerned family members and friends. “The Parkers have a home near mine in Florida’ word of this worthy cause spread neighbor-to-neighbor, and friend-calling-on-friend to support a mission larger than any one individual could have undertaken,” commented REVA’s marketing director. “Five years ago, REVA joined the mission to help fund the cancer research at Massachusetts General that translates research into treatment. The golf tournament has been a long-time contributor to that effort, and this past weekend REVA and other participants of this sold-out event, gathered to further the purpose and have lots of fun celebrating renewed health,” added REVA’s marketing director.

“The commitment,” REVA’s marketing director said, “represents REVA’s core values in action: friends and family supporting each other, and the work of an innovative institution, like Massachusetts General Cancer Research Center, that is making a difference in people’s lives.” Every day, doctors and researchers are getting closer and closer to finding better treatment options and, ultimately, a cure for this disease.

The tournament is also gaining attention from other large organizations such as RADCO Companies. Colby Robertson, a Regional Manager for RADCO and friend of the Parker’s, raised nearly $1500 the day of the event to support the cause!

Spread the word, one person to another; all may support this continuing mission by sending donations to Ocean State Pride, 6 Laurel Road, Exeter, RI 02822.
